The iRobot Roomba i3+ is an excellent robot vacuum that has many smart features that make it easier to maintain. The automatic bin emptying feature is one of the most useful features we've seen in a robot vacuum. It works well on both carpets and hard floors. It's also simple to set up and use with the app that guides you step-by-step through the procedure. Another notable feature is its ability to return to where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 minutes on one cleaning before running out of battery.
In contrast to other robovacs that we tested, the i3+ EVO comes with self-emptying bins that dump debris into an external dirt compartment on the base of its charging when it's full. The i3+ EVO is able to prevent overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However it still needs to be manually emptied at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L that will last for four to five cleaning sessions.
The i3+ EVO, just like the i7 uses state-ofthe-art floor-tracking sensors that create maps. It can also allow you to navigate through neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only keep one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The i7's map is used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones but not for the i3+ EVO.
While the i3+ EVO is more effective in picking up debris on surfaces than the other robovacs that we tested however, it's not the most effective when it comes to cleaning edges and corners. It's also more abrasive on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It pushed chairs away from walls and caused some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and also became stuck on cords and toys during our testing.

This is among the first robots we've seen incorporate 3D mapping. This, along with other innovations has helped it perform exceptionally well in our tests for vacuuming and mopping tests. You can schedule cleanings or create no-go zones. You can also see the battery's status. The app is simple to use, however it doesn't support Apple HomeKit. This model utilizes an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to map out your home and design efficient cleaning routes. The iMop was highly rated for its navigation and coverage. It also did a great job in avoiding obstacles like furniture. It's also able to find its way back to the base station, which is a nice feature in case it's running out of battery during a cleaning session.
The spot cleaning mode lets you to clean a certain space on your floor. And it can be manually programmed to follow a predetermined path, which is useful if you have narrow staircases or hallways. It was capable of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning test however, it had trouble with longer pile carpets and rugs.
